{"id":345,"date":"2020-01-16T13:24:21","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T13:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/msti.gm.gov.ng\/home\/?p=345"},"modified":"2020-01-16T13:26:01","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T13:26:01","slug":"directorate-of-science-and-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/msti.gm.gov.ng\/home\/2020\/01\/16\/directorate-of-science-and-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Directorate of Science and Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>DIRECTORATE\nOF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Formulation, implementation and\npromotion of appropriate science based Policies and Programmes in the State;<\/li><li>Identifying the scientific and\ninnovation needs in critical sectors of the State\u2019s economy with a view to\naddressing such needs<\/li><li>Encouraging and promoting indigenous\nscientific innovations and creativity in the State. <\/li><li>Encouragement and promotion of application\nof modern scientific by indigenous inventors and entrepreneurs.<\/li><li>Organizing, coordinating and\ncarrying out science based capacity building Programmes for Staff of MDA\u2019s to\nensure efficient service delivery.<\/li><li>Collaborate with Federal\nResearch Institutions, Universities, and the organized private sector to ensure\neffective development and commercialization of inventions and innovations from\nthe <\/li><li>Establish linkages with\nNational and International Scientific Organizations and institutions such as\nUNESCO, International Council for Science, International Mathematical Union,\nUniversities and other Educational Institutions etc to enhance the development\nof scientific knowledge and innovations in the State<\/li><li>Formulation\nand promotion of appropriate guidelines on conservation, utilization,\ndevelopment and commercialization of the State\u2019s Bio-resources e.g. trees\nincluding lumber (wood), bio-fuel etc.<\/li><li>Organization and participation\nin International, National and Local science based workshops, seminars,\nmeetings, technical fora etc.<\/li><li>Explore\neffective Public Private Partnership (PPP) in the development of science based\nenterprises for the benefit of the State.<\/li><li>Establish,\ncoordinate, supervise and monitor science based Incubation Centres to deliver\nspecialized skills and improve productive capacities of entrepreneurs and\nacademicians in the State.<\/li><li>Supervision\nof activities of the Board of Traditional Medicine <\/li><li>Engage in Agricultural Research in\nlocal seeds and inputs development<\/li><li>Sponsor and participate in\nexhibitions, competitions and local scientific innovations and inventions<\/li><li>Collaborate\nwith the State and Federal Ministries of Trade and Industry in registering and\nprotection of intellectual properties in the State<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIRECTORATE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Formulation, implementation and promotion of appropriate science based Policies and Programmes in the State; Identifying the scientific and innovation needs in critical sectors of the State\u2019s economy with a view to addressing such needs Encouraging and promoting indigenous scientific innovations and creativity in the State.
