1. Fashion out policies and programmes on Innovative development of the State
  2. Implement Government policies and programmes on Innovation development of the State
  3. Collaborate with the Directorate of Science and Technology in the establishment and supervision of Technology Incubations Centres in the State
  4. Participate in National Council meetings, conferences, workshops and seminars on Technology/Innovation promotions matters at National and International levels
  5. Encourage and fast track the development of indigenous Innovations in the State
  6. Encourage Innovation research works in all sectors of the State economy
  7. Supervise and coordinate the activities of Automobile, Mechanics, Technicians, Metal Fabricators, Local Artisans and Craftsmen in the State
  8. Certification of local technicians, Craftsmen, Mechanics etc. in the State
  9. Organize and participate in Technology/Innovation exhibitions at the State, national and International levels

Liaise and collaborate with Technology Centers and Research Institutes at Federal and University levels in the promotion of local technological advancement of the State
